Welcome to my online store. Claudia's Mexican Jewelry provides exquisite handcrafted copper, brass and sterling silver jewelry, which are perfect accessories for any occasion. I take pride in the jewelry designs I choose and I am confident that you will enjoy wearing this beautiful jewelry. You will be surprised how many people will ask you where you got your jewelry.

The copper and brass is handmade by my brother, Gustavo, and me. I design the piece, cut the wire, petals, flowers and Gustavo does all the soldering and melting of the metals. The pieces are one of a kind and lead-free.

As some of you know, our planet is running out of copper. According to Wikipedia: "The Earth has an estimated 61 years of copper reserves remaining. Environmental analyst, Lester Brown, however, has suggested copper might run out within 25 years based on a reasonable extrapolation of 2% growth per year." This is a quote I translated from my newspaper that talks about the shortage of raw copper in my state, which was one of the biggest producers years ago: "The copper mines played out about fifty years ago, and today most of the 10,000 tons of copper that comes into Santa Clara each week arrives in the form of recycled copper wire and cable from electric and telephone companies. The price has been going up and up, and it is getting harder to find the raw material." I thought it was so interesting to know copper mines are dying.
